the founder and driving force behind our supportive living organization. Darren is deeply committed to providing high-quality, person-centered services that promote independence, dignity, and meaningful community inclusion. With extensive hands-on experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Darren brings both professional expertise and genuine compassion to his work.
His leadership is grounded in the principles of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), emphasizing individualized supports, respect for personal choice, and services delivered in the least restrictive environment. Darren believes that every individual deserves to feel safe, valued, and empowered to live a life of purpose within their community. Through collaboration with families, care teams, and community partners, he works to ensure that supports are responsive, ethical, and tailored to each person’s unique strengths and needs.

Meet Jessica Harris
Jessica Harris serves as the Administrator of 1 Darren Harris & Family Inc., bringing over 16 years of experience in the supported living and human services field. Throughout her career, Jessica has worked extensively with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing oversight, guidance, and support that promotes dignity, independence, and person-centered care.
As Administrator, Jessica is responsible for ensuring day-to-day operations align with DBHDS regulations, organizational policies, and best practices in supportive living. She plays a critical role in staff supervision, service quality assurance, compliance, and coordination of supports to ensure individuals receive consistent, safe, and compassionate care.
Jessica is deeply committed to community-based services and believes in empowering individuals to make choices, build life skills, and remain active members of their communities. Her leadership is grounded in professionalism, accountability, and a genuine dedication to improving the quality of life for those served.
